A Second Chance
Before System Involvement
Fresh Start Kansas gives teens who are starting to show signs of risk an opportunity to course-correct without entering the juvenile justice or child welfare system. The program provides tools, support, and accountability to help youth make safer choices, repair harm when appropriate, and build a more hopeful future.
How Youth Diversion Works
Each participant works with a case manager to develop an individualized plan that may include restorative justice activities, family engagement, behavioral health support, and school or community partnership coordination. Along the way, youth are guided in decision-making, encouraged to take accountability, and supported in setting achievable goals.
